Sen. Lere Oyewumi Congratulates The Deputy President Of The Senate, Sen. Jibrin Barau CON On the Conferment Of An Honorary Doctorate Degree


The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Akogun Lere Oyewumi has congratulated the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, CON on his conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degree in Law by Bayero University Kano. He described the honor on Sen. Jibrin as heartwarming and a recognition of his sundry contributions to democratic development and nation-building. 

Sen. Lere Oyewumi noted that the award conferred on Sen. Jibrin bears eloquent testimony to the recognition of his stellar performance in public service. He expressed optimism that the latest honor would spur Sen. Jibrin Barau to carry out more selfless service to Kano, Nigeria, the global community, and humanity in general in years to come.

Sen. Oyewumi stressed that the 10th Senate has been greatly blessed by Jibrin's legislative contributions toward the betterment of the country. He has proved that excellence is about serving the people who elected you. He described Jibrin as a great lawmaker who has impacted positively on the lives of the people through virtues of hard work, and selfless service.

The Deputy Minority Senate Leader expressed gratitude to the authorities of Bayero University Kano for finding Sen. Jibrin Barau worthy of the honor which he said is well deserved and a gesture of his recognition as a renowned scholar, pro-democracy activist, an advocate of national unity, security expert and eminent statesman.
