Osun APC Candidate Oyebamiji Panics, Exposes Fear Ahead of 2026 Gubernatorial Election -

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its lackey candidate has once again exposed its confusion and desperation following a reckless statement credited to Mr Bola Oyebamiji, who claimed he was “facing a goalpost without a goalkeeper” during an interaction with some of his party youths in Osogbo.
This statement is not confidence. It is panic. It is fear. It is political emptiness. Only a lackey candidate who knows he lacks acceptance, popularity, structure, and credibility would insult the intelligence of Osun people with such careless arrogance. This comment is a clear admission that he is afraid of a free, fair, and competitive election.
Let it be placed on record that Oyebamiji is a product of imposition, not democracy. There was no credible primary election in the Osun APC. Aspirants were schemed out and disqualified in broad daylight so that Oyebamiji could emerge through manipulation as a so-called consensus candidate. A man who could not survive his party’s internal process cannot get the mandate of over four million Osun people.
Even more instructive is the fact that Oyebamiji has never been elected by the people in his political life. He has never faced the ballot, never earned a popular mandate, and never enjoyed grassroots endorsement. This explains why the APC is desperately shopping for courtroom shortcuts, technical gimmicks, and undemocratic arrangements to shield him from a resounding electoral humiliation.
Osun people have seen this script before and they rejected it. APC was rejected in 2018. APC was rejected again in 2022.
Their political leader, Gboyega Oyetola, suffered decisive defeats at the hands of Governor Ademola Adeleke, and no amount of propaganda can rewrite that history.
After spending eight years as Commissioner for Finance, Oyebamiji has no tangible legacy, no landmark achievement, and no development footprint, not even in his hometown, Ikire. A man who failed his immediate constituency cannot credibly aspire to govern Osun State.
Come August 8, 2026, Osun people will once again speak with one voice. Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will be massively re-elected for a second term, while the APC and its lackey candidate will be reminded that Osun State is not a political inheritance and not a dumping ground for recycled failures.
The message is simple and final: You cannot win what you are too afraid to contest.
