● Knocks APC’s Evil Records in Governance
● Denies Alleged Hoarding of Palliative Foodstuff
● Defends Adeleke’s Infra and Welfare Programmes
The Peoples Democratic Party has knocked the All Progressives Congress as a party addicted to falsehood and hallucination as it debunked fake reports of hoarded foodstuff, challenging the opposition to account for 5000 bags of rice it collected from President Bola Tinubu in December, 2023.
Responding to what it called defamatory publications by the opposition, the PDP accused the APC of diverting Christmas rice meant for the state from President Bola Tinubu, alleging that out of 5000 bags, less than 2000 was distributed by the opposition party.
We challenge the APC to account for the christmas rice as the party has remained mute since the scandal broke out in December 2023.
The APC government had while in office hoarded Covid19 palliatives until the members of the public broke into the warehouses to claim the foodstuff. The APC repeated the infamous record as the Christmas scandal is still on APC to explain.
Unlike the APC ,the PDP adopted a public oriented approach in the distribution of the palliatives by setting up a distribution committee led and composed of society groups like the muslim and christian associations, market associations and other non-governmental groups.
The committee handled the distribution and the exercise was concluded since last year, positing that the APC is only hallucinating by fake reference to hoarded and spoiled palliative foodstuff.
APC has a record of hoarding palliative foodstuff. It happened when it was in power and now in opposition, it also diverted Christmas rice. PDP is not a palliative thieving party like APC.
On other lies pushed out by the APC on state allocation, we submitted that allocations to the state and local government are never hidden and funds are judiciously allocated for local and state projects.
There are many local projects that are ongoing; there are also local governments-state projects under implementation. State projects are also ongoing unabated. The PDP government runs an open and transparent government.
While denying the state has received over 100 billion as alleged by the APC, the PDP defended the two -pronged approach of Governor Adeleke to the governance of Osun state which involved infrastructure upgrade and pro-people and workers support policies and programmes.
APC left Osun state with run down infrastructures. The infra deficit for Osun was almost 90 percent. How do we grow the economy, alleviate poverty and create jobs without addressing the infrastructure deficit?
Also, APC left Osun people pauperised with years of unpaid pensions and half salaries. How do you develop a state when a party weaponizes poverty as a tool to suppress the population?
Governor Adeleke adopted infra upgrade and peoples welfare as critical focus under the five point agenda. State funds under the law are going into these various programmes under an open governance template.
Lawal and his co-travellers in the ship wrecking of Osun state cannot accept Governor Adeleke who is bridging the infra deficit and addressing poverty and welfare questions. The opposition cannot understand why Osun needs an infra upgrade and attention to workers’ welfare.
Because Governor Adeleke’s performance rating is over 90 percent, the APC cannot see the Imole buses operating on a daily basis across designated routes.
Because the APC would have diverted and pocketed the N2 billion palliative,it cannot see how Governor Adeleke is paying wage awards to workers and pensioners and supporting the poor.
Because the state APC is still at pain over the positive transformation widely acknowledged by Osun people, the opposition is ignorant of several declarations that the N7 billion refund was specifically listed for infrastructure interventions and that the state has rightly domiciled the fund in the state project account as part of the state multi-billion infrastructure agenda.
We call on the APC to cover its head in shame for its years of locust in governance of Osun state. It is time the opposition acknowledge its failed past and surrender to Governor Adeleke, a man who is scoring grade A in sectors where APC got F9.
Signed:
Hon. Sunday Bisi,
State Chairman,
Osun State PDP
